Nothing has been spent, because the first feeding session has not run. When that changes, this table changes with it.
How the money will move, once feeding starts
Five steps, and we publish at the end of every one of them.

You order
We record the eligible items and the amount owed against them.

It is held
The amount stays held. It is not spent on stock and not spent on advertising.

We feed them
We buy the food and put it down ourselves — then publish the receipt here with the date and the amount.
A transfer proves money moved. It does not, by itself, prove a specific cat was fed — and we will not pretend otherwise.
Why the zeroes are on the page
Big numbers are cheap.
Receipts are not.
This category is full of stores printing millions of meals on a homepage and never showing a receipt. It is very easy to do and almost nobody checks.
So we publish the boring version instead: what the rule is, what has been set aside, what has been spent, and what has not. Right now most of those are zero, and that is exactly what this page should say.
When feeding starts we will publish every session here, and every month after that you will be able to check our arithmetic.
Fair questions
Why should I believe any of this?
Partly you shouldn't yet — we have no track record. What we can offer today is a rule you can check and a table that shows zeroes when they are zeroes. If you would rather wait until there is a transfer to look at, that is completely reasonable.
Where does the money sit meanwhile?
In the business, held and not spent against stock or advertising. It is a commitment recorded when the sale happens, not a separate trust account — we would rather describe that accurately than dress it up.
What happens if I return something?
Cancel before dispatch and the contribution cancels with it. Return after a transfer has gone out and we absorb it — we do not claw money back from a rescue.
Is this a charity?
No, and buying from us is not a tax-deductible donation. We are a business that sets aside a fixed amount per item.
